The local kick off time for the first Quarter Final of this tournament in Orlando, Florida is 3pm (ET) on 4^th July 2025   

The Moon is in the 1^st house, very close to the house cusp. This gives a strong boost to the fortunes of the favourites.   

The Moon’s first aspect is a conjunction with the antiscion of the Part of Fortune (at 06 Scorpio 19).  Although a conjunction to an antiscion is not always as reliable as a bodily conjunction, this also points to a win for the favourites.  

The Moon’s final relevant aspect is a sextile to Mars, lord of the 1^st house:  Another powerful testimony for the favourites.   This aspect is just over the 5-degree orb of reliability for 90-minute football matches, so an opportunity in extra time may prove significant.   

We have a chart overwhelmingly in favour of a win for the favourites. However, it is less easy to decide who the favourites are.   

Both Fluminense and Al-Hilal have played outstandingly during this tournament:  Fluminense have a win against Inter Milan to their credit, while Al-Hilal can boast the biggest upset of the contest so far, having defeated Manchester City by four goals to three last Tuesday.   

At the time of writing (3^rd July 2025), most bookmakers favour Al-Hilal to win, but the margin is very narrow and Fluminense have strong support as well.   

One thing is certain: This contest between well-matched teams promises to be one of the most memorable of the tournament.

Forecasts for the FIFA Club World Cup will continue later in the week but, for now, over to the first day of the Women’s Euro 2025 where Switzerland do battle with Norway in their opening match of the tournament.

The local kick off time for this match at St Jakob-Park in Basel is 9pm.

Although Switzerland have the home advantage, the pundits consider Norway to be the stronger side. 

As favourites, Norway are signified by Saturn (lord of the 1^st house).  Their co-significator, Mars, already has a role as dispositor of the Part of Fortune which takes precedence. 

The 7^th and 4^th house (and their rulers) represent Switzerland:  Here, the 7^th house is ruled by the Moon, who already has a role describing the events of the match.  The Moon’s dispositor is Venus, who also rules the 4^th house, making her the ideal significator for Switzerland.  

So, unusually, both teams have just one planet to represent them:  Saturn for Norway and Venus for Switzerland.   

The antiscion of Venus (at 02 Leo 03, for Switzerland) opposes a retrograde Pluto.  Pluto tends to reserve his malice for the favourites so, if Switzerland are truly the underdogs, they should have little to fear.

Saturn (for favourites Norway) applies to conjunct the Part of Fortune.  This powerful testimony would award victory to Norway, but Neptune intercedes between them, preventing the aspect: Norway may have victory in their grasp, but Neptune has it in his power to deny them the win, if the mood takes him.   

Overall, this is an interesting chart, in that both teams have difficult planets to contend with.  The favourites should have the edge, but if Neptune is in the mood for mischief, unexpected outcomes are possible.

The local kick off time for this Last-16 match in Charlotte, North Carolina, is 3pm (ET) on 30th June 2025.   

In the tournament’s first round, Inter Milan won one more game than their rivals.  The pundits favour them to win.  However, a draw between these well-matched teams cannot be ruled out:  Can the contest chart throw further light on the result?   

As favourites, Inter Milan are represented by Venus (lord of the 1^st house) and the Sun (ruler of the 10^th house, the house of victory for the favourites).   

The sole significator for rivals Fluminense is Mars (lord of the 7^th house).  Saturn, ruler of the 4^th house (the house of victory for the underdogs) is already spoken for as dispositor of the Part of Fortune.   

Inter Milan will play well:  The antiscion of Venus (at 04 Leo 14) is just inside the 10^th house, conjunct the cusp.  This testimony is not as reliable as if Venus were in the 10^th house by bodily placement, but may be sufficient to win them the match.   

The only lunar aspect within the standard 5-degree orb for 90-minute football matches is a square to the antiscion of the Sun (at 20 Gemini 46).  This is a weak testimony which favours Inter Milan. 

So we have two minor testimonies for the favourites, and little to support the underdogs:  This chart inclines towards a win for the favourites, Inter Milan.   

Note however that Saturn (dispositor of the Part of Fortune) applies to conjunct Neptune. If he is in the mood, Neptune can cause unexpected mischief:  His influence may have been felt in last Saturday’s match between Benfica and Chelsea, where disruption due to stormy weather meant the the game took almost five hours to complete. Inter Milan may find their path to victory less straightforward than they expect.

The local kick off time for this last-16 match at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida is 4pm (ET) on 29th June 2025.   

Bayern Munich are tipped for victory, but some pundits favour a draw: What do the heavens say?  

The Moon applies to a conjunction with Mars, which (as lord of the 1^st house) favours the favourites.  This is one of the strongest possible testimonies for victory for Bayern Munich.  

The Sun (lord of the 10^th house, the house of victory for the favourites) applies to an opposition with the Part of Fortune.  Although the orb of aspect is slightly over the ideal1-2 degrees, it is a powerful testimony for the underdogs, Flamengo. However, it is unlikely to be strong enough to counteract the more powerful conjunction of the Moon and Mars. 

Overall, this chart favours Bayern Munich.   

However, a draw may be within Flamengo’s reach, and the favourites should be on their guard against a strong challenge from their rivals, especially during the latter stages of the game.

The local kick off time for this last-16 match at Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, North Carolina is 4pm (ET) on 28th June 2025.  

Despite an uneven performance against Flamengo last week, Chelsea are favourites to win against injury-hit Benfica, but the battle is expected to be close. 

As favourites, Chelsea are represented by Mars, (lord of the 1^st house) and the Sun (lord of the 10^th house).   

Benfica are signified by Venus (lord of the 7^th house) and Saturn (lord of the 4^th house). 

The Moon is in the 10^th house (for Chelsea), but placed too far from the 10^th house cusp to signify:  Ideally, she would need to be within 1-2 degrees of the Midheaven to indicate a win for the favourites.   

The Moon applies to trine the antiscion of Mars (lord 1) at 23 Aries 29.  Although it is not as powerful as a bodily aspect, this is nevertheless a strong testimony for favourites Chelsea.   

The only other aspect of note is an opposition between the antiscion of the Part of Fortune (at 07 Capricorn 36) and the Sun (lord of the 10^th house).  This favours the underdogs, Benfica.   

The pundits expect this match to be close, and the heavens agree:  With equally balanced testimonies (one for each team) a draw is very possible.  Either way, expect the teams to be evenly matched, with the result uncertain right up until the final minutes of the game.

The local kick off time for this Group G match at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida is 3pm (ET) on 26th June 2025. 

The Moon applies to conjunct the Midheaven:  The favourite wins.  Ideally, this aspect would be slightly closer. An orb of 1-2 degrees is ideal.  However, in the absence of any stronger testimonies in the chart, this aspect should give us the result.   

As might be expected, support from the British bookmakers is overwhelmingly for Manchester City. But does this give us a true, unbiased picture?  Both City and Juventus are on good form and have played well in the tournament so far.   

Juventus are currently top of Group G, with Manchester City in second place. Both have the same number of points and have already won their places in the Round of 16.   

Expect this game to be closely fought, as finishing top of Group G will confer a strategic advantage on the winner, potentially allowing them a smoother progress through the next round.  Although Manchester City are the bookies’ favourites, Juventus only need a draw to finish top of their group.  

Neptune’s proximity to Saturn (ruler of the 4^th house, the house of victory for the underdogs) adds an element of the unexpected, and potential disruption.   

An unmissable match for the football fan, and one which promises to be crucial to the outcome of the tournament.

The local kick off time for this Group E match at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena 6pm (ET) on 25th June 2025. 

The pundits favour CF Monterrey, but do the heavens agree?   

As favourites, Monterrey are signified by Jupiter (lord of the 1^st house). Mercury, lord of the opposing 7^th house, represents their rivals, Urawa Red Diamonds.  

This is an unusual chart, as the 10^th house (the house of victory for the favourites) is ruled by Mercury (Urawa Red Diamonds) whilst the 4^th house (victory for the underdogs) is ruled by Jupiter (Monterrey). For both planets, their main roles as rulers of the 1st and 7^th houses take precedence.  Their rulership of the 4^th and 10^th houses is discounted.   

Jupiter (lord 1) is afflicted with combustion, which is bad for the favourites.   

The Moon applies to oppose the antiscion of the Part of Fortune (at 14 Capricorn 20) favouring the underdogs.   

Urawa Red Diamonds were drawn in a tough group and have yet to win a game this tournament. However, this chart suggests they have potential to play much better against Monterrey.   This promises to be one of the most interesting games of the day.

The local kick off time for this Group C match at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, New Carolina is 3pm (ET) on 24th June 2025. 

Bayern Munich, the favourites, have Venus (lord 1) as their significator.  Lord 10 (usually the co-significator of the favourites) is the Moon, who already has a role describing the events of the match.   

The lords of the 7^th and 4^th houses (Mars and Saturn) represent rivals Benfica.   

This chart is lacking in strong, reliable testimonies, raising a question mark over the outcome of the match.  The only two aspects of note are from the Moon:  First a sextile to the antiscion of Mars (at 25 Aries 48) and finally a square to the antiscion of Saturn at 28 Virgo 21).  Both these aspects, although not as reliable as bodily aspects, favour Benfica.  

The signs are that Benfica will play better than the pundits expect. A win for the underdogs, or a draw are both strong possibilities.

Palmeiras, who have yet to concede a game this tournament, are the favourites:  They are represented by Saturn (lord 1) and Venus (lord 4). 

Rivals Inter Milan have just one significator, Mars, ruler of the 4^th house.  Usually they would also be signified by the ruler of the 7^th house but, with the sign Cancer on the house cusp, this is the Moon who already has a key role describing the events of the match.   

Saturn (lord 1) applies to conjunct Neptune, which may prove detrimental to the favourites, either due to inconsistencies in their play, or unexpected events or decisions which cause them problems.  

Whether Neptune’s influence is sufficient to affect the result remains to be seen, but in the absence of any stronger testimonies it is worthy of note.  Expect surprises!
