Astrological Football Predictions for Liverpool vs West Ham and Newcastle Utd vs Everton

This weekend promises Halloween treats to the favourites and little in the way of shocks and surprises, so far as our two featured games are concerned.

Liverpool are odds-on favourites to win against West Ham this Saturday, an opinion with which the heavens concur: The antiscion of the Part of Fortune (at 26 Capricorn 48) exactly conjunct Saturn (Lord 10, victory for the favourites) should prove the bookies correct.

*Note: The Part of Fortune herself is placed just inside the 7th house (the team considered to be the underdogs), which might be thought helpful for West Ham. However, the bodily placement of Fortuna is linked to the Moon’s phases and will always be roughly in the same place in charts calculated for the same kickoff time and location during the month. Identical results might be expected for every match played under similar conditions of place and time, and experience has taught this is not the case. The position of Fortuna’s antiscion, which is determined by sign placement, is much more variable and therefore the testimony of significance.

Saturn again has a starring role in Sunday’s match between Newcastle and Everton, this time in his role as Lord of the Ascendant awarding victory to favourites Everton via his trine with the Moon. The result of the match should be decided in the closing minutes of the match or extra time (the Moon has just over 6 degrees to travel to complete the aspect with Saturn). Should this late opportunity not occur, a draw is not beyond the bounds of possibility: The Moon also makes aspects to the antiscion of the Sun, Lord 7 (at 20 Aquarius 24) for Newcastle and Jupiter (Lord 10, for Everton at 21 Capricorn 07) before her aspect to Saturn, promising goals for both sides.

Astrological Football Predictions for West Ham vs Manchester City, Manchester Utd vs Chelsea, Liverpool vs Sheffield Utd and Aberdeen vs Celtic

This Saturday Manchester City travel to London Stadium to play West Ham and, if the bookies are correct, are expected to win comfortably. But do the heavens agree? The debilitating South Node afflicting the cusp of the 1st house (which represents the favourites) could pose problems for City, just as the North Node on the cusp of the 7th house gives a corresponding boost to the fortunes of the opposing Hammers. Although powerful, this is the only testimony in West Ham’s favour. The rest of the chart inclines towards a victory for City, most notably the Moon’s sextile to Mars, the dispositor of the Part of Fortune: Harmonious aspects from the Moon to the Fortuna or her dispositor traditionally favour the favourites (it may also be noted that Mars rules the 4th house, representing victory for the underdogs, but unfortunately for West Ham his role as the dispositor of Fortuna takes precedence). West Ham are represented by the 7th house ruler Mercury who is currently retrograde and moving ever closer to the Sun. Whist retrograde motion is not usually a debility in contest charts of this type, combustion very much is; the likelihood being that, on this occasion, West Ham will find the challenge of City too hot to handle.

The same sextile between the Moon and Mars which smiles on the fortunes of Manchester City may prove equally favourable to their neighbours and derby rivals Manchester United: As favourites, Manchester United are signified by the 1st house and its ruler Mars, to which the Moon’s sextile carries a likely victory.

The North and South nodes once again make their influence felt in Saturday’s early evening match between favourites Liverpool and opponents Sheffield Utd. The North Node placed exactly on the cusp of the Ascendant should give a boost to the fortunes of the hosts, whilst the South Node may be expected to cause corresponding problems for Sheffield. The Moon just inside the 10th house (victory for the favourites) is a further powerful testimony for Liverpool. The primary significator of Liverpool, Mercury (Lord 1) would appear at first to be hindered by combustion (close proximity to the Sun), but as the Sun is also ruler of a house representing one of the teams (the 4th house; victory for Sheffield), this debility has less significance. On balance, a likely win for favourites Liverpool.

On to Sunday, where Aberdeen play hosts to favourites Celtic at Pittodrie. Although hindered by the baleful influence of the South Node conjunct the cusp of the 1st house, Celtic should emerge the victors, assisted by the applying conjunction of Fortuna with her dispositor, retrograde Mars.

Astrological Football Predictions for Everton vs Liverpool, Manchester City vs Arsenal and Crystal Palace vs Brighton

Saturday’s predictions begin with (what is certain to be) one of the most hotly-contested matches of the weekend, the derby fixture between Everton and Liverpool. The bookies favour Liverpool to win: As favourites, they are awarded the 1st house and its ruler, Jupiter. Everton are signified by the opposing 7th house and its ruler, Mercury.

Mercury applies retrograde to the Moon, significator of events during the match. Uranus at 09 Taurus 15 intercedes, but collects light from both Moon and Mercury by opposition, lending his assistance to rather than blocking the conjunction. A conjunction between the Moon and a key planet usually awards the match to the team signified: In this case, it points to a likely victory for Everton. It will be interesting to see how the influence of Uranus manifests during the match: Unexpected events or sudden reversals of fortune are likely.

Later the same afternoon, favourites Manchester City do battle with visitors Arsenal and, once again, it seems likely that the retrograde aspect of a key planet will decide the result: This time, Mars (who, as Lord 1 represents the favourites) applies retrograde to conjunct Fortuna; a powerful testimony for City which should award them the match.

On to Sunday’s match between Crystal Palace and Brighton, where a glance at the bookmaker’s odds tells us that the match is expected to be very close, with Palace deemed to have a very slight edge over their opponents. As favourites, Palace are represented by 1st house and its ruler Saturn. Brighton are awarded the opposing 7th house, ruled by the Moon. As the Moon is already spoken for as the main significator of events, her dispositor Mars steps in as substitute to represent Brighton.

The Moon applies to sextile Saturn, Lord 1 for Crystal Palace. In the absence of any corresponding testimonies for Brighton, this should award victory to the hosts. The Moon has over 5 degrees to travel before she perfects the sextile with Saturn: This being quite a significant distance for an short event such as a football match, expect the result to be decided in the latter stages of what promises to be a tense and hard-fought contest.

Astrological Football Predictions for Leeds United vs Manchester City and Newcastle United vs Burnley

Manchester City are odds-on favourites to win against hosts Leeds this Saturday, but the heavens may have a surprise in store. The aspect of greatest significance is the Moon’s application to oppose Mercury, which, as ruler of both 7th and 4th houses favours the underdogs Leeds (Mercury is also the dispositor of Fortuna, but as he rules both 7th and 4th houses, his role as main significator of Leeds takes precedence). The North Node’s beneficial placement just inside the cusp of the 4th house (victory for Leeds) and the corresponding debility for City from the South Node in the 10th house add further weight to the testimony of the Moon and Mercury; all of which point to Leeds doing much better than the bookies expect.

On to Saturday evening’s game at St James’ Park, where hosts Newcastle are the bookies’ favourites to win against visiting Burnley. As favourites, Newcastle are represented by Venus, ruler of the Ascendant. Mars, Lord of the opposing 7th house, signifies Burnley. The Moon, whose movements often decide the outcome in football charts, makes no conclusive aspects: Her trine to the antiscion of Mars (at 05 Virgo 45) is mildly favourable for Burnley, but not strong enough to guarantee them the match. Balanced against this, Saturn placed in his own sign of Capricorn and in his own house (the 10th house, victory for the favourites), lends his strength to Newcastle and attests to their fine form, but alone is not a winning testimony. Overall, this is a fairly balanced chart with both sides looking set to score. Newcastle have a slight edge over their opponents, but a draw should not be ruled out.
