Placed 5^th in the Premiership, 14 points separate Arsenal from Newcastle, languishing at the bottom of the table with just 6 points. Arsenal are clear favourites to win, but is this reflected in the heavens? 

The astrological chart set for the kickoff seems to concur: Jupiter, Lord of the 10^th house (victory and success) is placed just inside the cusp of the 1^st house which represents Arsenal (because they are the favourites, not because they are the home team).  Victory is within their grasp.  

The Sun, ruler of the opposing 7^th house and main significator of Newcastle, applies to the cusp of the 10^th house of victory.  However, at 10 degrees distant from the cusp, the Sun is too far away from the cusp to help the underdogs. 

The Part of Fortune conjunct its own dispositor (Mars) is another strong testimony for the favourites. 

With two strong testimonies for Arsenal, and none for Newcastle, this chart agrees with the pundits:  A win for for the home side is the most likely result

Leading the Women’s Super League, Arsenal Women are the favourites and are signified by 1st house ruler Saturn, strongly placed in his own sign at 07 Aquarius 48. Tottenham Hotspur Women are represented by the Sun (ruler of the opposing 7th house) at 21 Scorpio 23.

Jupiter, ruler of the 10th house (victory and success) applies to conjunct the 1st house cusp: This is a very fortunate sign for favourites Arsenal.

However, there are other important testimonies which favour Spurs, both involving the Moon. First, the Moon applies to square the Part of Fortune, and next trines the Sun (7th house ruler). Aspects to the Part of Fortune are most important, and the Moon’s last aspect (over the 5 degree orb usually considered effective for a 90 minute football match) can also prove decisive: Considered together, they could add up to victory for Tottenham Hotspur Women.

At the time of writing, just one point separates Blackpool and QPR in the Championship League.  However, placed at 5^th in the table to Blackpool’s 10^th, visitors QPR are the favourites and are therefore awarded the 1^st House and its ruler Mercury. They are also signified by Saturn (ruler of the 10^th house, victory for the favourites). 

The opposing 7^th house and its ruler Jupiter signify hosts Blackpool.  Their fortunes are also represented by the Sun, ruler of the 4^th house (victory for the underdogs).   

Saturn is placed in his own sign, and in 10^th house (which, in this chart, he rules):  This placement benefits QPR, and although it would be even more fortunate if Saturn were closer to the 10^th house cusp, it nevertheless promises a convincing performance from the favourites. 

However, the Moon’s placement, directly on the cusp of the 7^th house is even more fortunate for Blackpool.  John Frawley in his book “Sports Astrology” describes this as; “a big surge of energy for that team, almost as if the cosmos is cheering for it.”  With the Moon on their side, Blackpool may surprise the pundits by gaining the edge over QPR, although with a strong performance from both sides likely, a draw cannot be ruled out.
