At the time of writing, Scotland sit at the top of Group A, whilst Norway have yet to win a match. Despite this, the pundits favour Norway to be victors in Oslo this weekend.
As favourites, Norway are represented by Mars, Lord 1, and the Sun (Lord 10, victory for the favourites).
Scotland are signified by Venus (Lord of the opposing 7th house) and Saturn (Lord 4, victory for the underdogs).
The South Node in the 1st house is a strong debility for the favourites, and Norway’s performance is likely to be below par. However, the South Node will not have a dominating influence over their game, as it would if it were placed on the 1st house cusp.
The North Node in the 7th house is a boon for Scotland, who will continue to play well, as they have throughout these qualifiers.
Mars applies to closely conjunct the 10th house cusp: A positive testimony for favourites Norway.
The Moon describes how events will unfold during the match: First, she applies to trine the Part of Fortune (for the favourites).
Next, she moves to a trine with the antiscion of Saturn Lord 4 (at 22 Libra 48, for the underdogs), before finally making a conjunction with the Sun (ruler of the 10th house of victory) concluding the match for the favourites.
To perfect her conjunction with the Sun, the Moon will need to travel slightly further than the 5 degrees usually considered reliable for a 90-minute football match. The deciding goal for the favourites is likely to occur in extra time.
Despite a strong performance from their rivals, the favourites look set to win. If the pundits are correct, and Norway truly are the favourites, they will be the team celebrating this Saturday.
