South Korea are the favourites to win this Group A match against Czechia, but the teams are thought to be evenly matched, with a draw very possible. 

What do the heavens say?

As favourites, South Korea have Jupiter (ruler of the 1st house) and Venus (ruler of the 10th house, the house of success for the favourites specifically, and victory in general) as their significators.

Mercury (ruler of the 7th house, the house of the opposition to the favourites) and Mars (ruler of the 4th house) represent rivals Czechia.  

Both Jupiter (South Korea) and Mercury (Czechia) are in the same sign (Cancer), and within orb of conjunction to Venus (ruler of the house of victory) but Venus moves into the next sign and house before either Jupiter or Mercury can make the conjunction with Venus exact. This could show victory (Venus) eluding the grasp of both teams, and makes a draw more likely. 

The Moon makes no aspects over the 5-degree orb considered most accurate when forecasting 90-minute football matches.  However, at just over that 5-degree orb, the Moon opposes the Part of Fortune, a testimony which favours the underdogs.  This suggests that, should extra time occur (and extra time is always plentiful in World Cup tournaments) and opportunity will occur for the underdogs to gain the advantage. 

The biggest puzzle in this match is which team are the true favourites, as the current odds for both teams are so close.  However, the contest chart seems clear that this will be a close contest, with a draw a strong possibility. However, if extra time is allowed, this could prove crucial to the result.

Astrological Football Forecasts will be taking a short break and will return for the FIFA World Cup starting 11th June 2026.

The favourites (at the time of writing, Manchester City) is signified by Mercury, lord of the 1st and 10th houses.

Jupiter, ruler of the 7th and 4th houses, represents their rivals, Chelsea.

The Moon applies to trine the Part of Fortune: This is a positive testimony for the favourites. She then moves to conjunct the Sun (the match is held on the day of the New Moon, hence the Part of Fortune’s proximity to the Ascendant) and next applies to a conjunction with Mercury. This is the Moon’s final aspect in her current sign of Taurus and is also highly favourable for the favourites.

Mercury is combust (within 8-degrees of the Sun). This is a debility which may hinder the performance of the favourites, but is unlikely to counter the positive aspects from the Moon, especially the lunar conjunction with Mercury.

The contest chart for the 2026 FA Cup Final favours the favourites: Manchester City are currently odds-on to win: If the pundits are correct, City will have cause for optimism this Saturday.

Manchester City, the odds-on favourites, have just one significator, Venus (ruler of the 1st house). The Moon (ruler of the 10th house, the house of victory for the favourites) is already occupied describing the events of the match so cannot be City’s co-significator on this occasion.

Opponents Brentford have Mars (ruler of the 7th house) and Saturn (ruler of the 4th house, the house of victory for the underdogs) as their representatives for this match.

As is often the case, the Moon’s aspects hold the key to the result: She applies to trine Venus (1st house ruler), a strong testimony for the favourites.

The Moon’s next aspect is a sextile to Mars (7th house ruler), a testimony which favours Brentford. Although the orb of aspect is beyond the 5-degree orb considered most reliable for 90-minute football matches, it suggests that Brentford will be at their most dangerous during the latter stages of the match, especially if the game strays into extra time.

The only testimony of note is an applying sextile between the Moon and the antiscion of the Part of Fortune (at 05 Libra 06): This favours the favourites.   

Bournemouth, who have the home advantage and are currently 7^th in the table to Crystal Palace’s 13^th are odds-on favourites to win. However, experience (if not astrology) has taught that any match involving Crystal Palace has a measure of unpredictability, so the result could prove closer than the pundits expect.

Mars, ruler of the 7^th house and Saturn ruler of the 4^th house, represent opponents Southampton. Saturn placed in the 7^th house, close to the house cusp,  is a positive sign for the underdogs. It does not guarantee that they will win but suggests they will prove strong opposition.  

However, in the absence of other significant testimonies, the placement of Saturn is a warning to the favourites that they should be on their guard against a spirited performance from Southampton, who will be ready to turn any opportunity to their advantage.

At the time of writing, hosts Chelsea have the confidence of the bookies, and are currently odds-on favourites to win.  But do the heavens agree?   

As favourites, Chelsea are represented by Venus (ruler of the 1^st house) and the Sun (ruler of the 10^th house, the house of victory for the favourites).  Their opponents, Manchester United, have Mars (ruler of the 7^th house) and Saturn (ruler of the 4th house, the house of victory for the underdogs) as their significators.   

The Sun, ruler of the 10^th house (the house of victory for the favourites) hovers closely over the cusp of the 7^th house (the house of Chelsea’s rivals in this match, Manchester United). Although this does not guarantee victory for the favourites, it does suggest that they will dominate the match and is a great boost to their prospects.   

The Moon disagrees:  She immediately applies to oppose the Part of Fortune, a strong testimony for the underdogs.   

Both Chelsea and Manchester United have powerful testimonies in their favour, a sign that the result may be closer than expected.   

The Moon makes one other aspect of note: A conjunction with Venus, ruler of the 1^st house.  This would guarantee a win for the favourites, were the aspect not beyond the 5-degree orb considered most reliable for 90-minute football matches.  However, with extra time a possibility, a last-minute opportunity for the favourites may prove advantageous.  

One more point of note: A very late degree (29 Libra 20) rises, making it all the more important that this match kicks off on time.  If the start is delayed by 5 minutes or more, a new sign (Scorpio) will be on the ascendant.  The Sun will no longer dominate the 7^th house cusp, nullifying the most powerful testimony in favour of the favourites.  The Moon will still apply to oppose the Part of Fortune, inclining the chart more strongly to favour the underdogs.  With Taurus now on the cusp of the 7^th house, the last minute advantage shown by the Moon’s late applying conjunction with Venus (ruler of Taurus) will now also favour the underdogs.

An aspect by Antiscion is not as reliable as a bodily aspect but is still positive for the underdogs. At the current time of writing, Liverpool are odds-on favourites to win. If the bookies are correct, our contest chart suggests they will dominate the game.

However, Liverpool must be alert to a late challenge from underdogs Fulham. If unchecked, this may turn the tables on the favourites and dash their hopes of victory.
