Overall, this chart inclines to a convincing win for Arsenal.

The first Premier League game of the new season sees Liverpool as odds-on favourites to win at home against Bournemouth: Do the heavens agree?
Favourites Liverpool are represented by Saturn (lord of the 1st house) and Jupiter (lord of the 10th house, the house of victory for the favourites).
Rivals Bournemouth are signified by the Sun and Mercury (the rulers of the 7th and 4th houses respectively).
Pluto, placed close to the 1st house cusp, seems keen to get our attention. In his book “Sports Astrology” John Frawley observes that Pluto appears to have a grudge against the favourites. However, in this chart, retrograde Pluto is moving away from the 1st house and may already be far enough away to limit his baleful influence. It could also be that Pluto casts his shadow over past events, describing Liverpool’s recent loss to Crystal Palace in the UEFA Super Cup final earlier this week.
Mercury, ruler of the 4th house (the house of victory for the underdogs) sits on the 7th house cusp. This does not guarantee a win for Bournemouth but does suggest they are in good form and will play well: This testimony is a significant boost to their fortunes.
The Moon applies to square the Sun (ruler of the 7th house, for Bournemouth). The aspect is wider than the 5-degree orb considered most reliable for a 90-minute football match, but suggests that the longer the match continues, the greater Bournemouth’s chances of winning.

The pundits confidently expect PSG to win: As odds-on favourites, they are signified by Jupiter, ruler of the 1st and 10th houses.
Their rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, are described by Mercury, the ruler of the 7th and 4th houses.
Mercury (for Spurs) applies to square the Part of Fortune. Jupiter (for PSG) applies to trine the Part of Fortune (for PSG): Both these aspects are less reliable testimonies than conjunctions or oppositions, but hint at a more balanced contest than the pundits expect.
The trine to the Part of Fortune (which favors PSG) slightly exceeds the 5-degree orb considered most reliable for 90-minute football matches. However, this is a cup final and there must be a winner, so some leeway can be allowed: Should the game stray into extra time, this will tilt the balance in favour of the favourites.
John Frawley observes that the Moon’s aspects denote the outcome of more contest charts than any other testimony: Here, she applies to trine the antiscion of the Part of Fortune at 20 Aquarius 19. Although this is not as reliable an indication as a bodily aspect to the Part of Fortune, it is nevertheless a powerful boost to the fortunes of PSG.
Overall, this chart inclines towards a win for the favourites: The heavens agree that Paris Saint Germain have the best chance of victory. Tottenham Hotspur’s best opportunities will occur earlier in the game – as the match progresses, PSG’s dominance will become more apparent.

Mercury, ruler of the 10th house (Liverpool’s house of victory) is retrograde. Simon Chokoisky has observed that certain retrograde planets can act in a stronger, more focused way in sporting contests, so this could be a boost to Liverpool’s fortunes.
Liverpool have won the Community Shield 16 times previously and will be seeking their 17th win. In this context, Mercury ruler of the 10th house, could show them returning to Wembley to win again (thanks to Ayesha Basit for this observation).
However, both Jupiter and Venus (for Crystal Palace) apply to conjunct the antiscion of the Part of Fortune at 18 Cancer 39, a sign that they may have a better game than the pundits expect.
The Moon applies to trine both Venus and Jupiter, another positive testimony for Crystal Palace. The aspect is over the 5-degree orb usually considered most reliable for a 90-minute football match and usually would not signify. However, this is sporting final and there must be a winner, so the wide orb is more likely to signal the match going to extra time, or even penalties.
This promises to be another closely fought contest. Crystal Palace have caused upsets at Wembley already this year (most notably beating Manchester City to FA Cup glory in May) and have potential to do so again. However, Liverpool will prove strong opposition to their hopes. This game may not be resolved until the final stages, with extra time and penalties a possibility.

The local kick off time for the Women’s Euro Cup Final between England and Spain in Basel, Switzerland is 6pm CET on 27th July 2025. England are the defending European Champions, but Spain’s World Cup-winning side are on such impressive form that they are odds-on favourites to lift the tournament trophy.
As favourites, Spain are represented by Jupiter (lord of the 1st house) and Venus (lord of the 10th house, the house of victory for the favourites).
Opponents England are signified by Mercury (ruler of the 7th house) and Mars (ruler of the 4th house).
Mercury (for England) is applying retrograde to conjunct the Sun. This is known as combustion and is a severe debility. Notwithstanding the wide orb, this testimony is unfortunate for the Lionesses.
The Moon’s only significant aspect (over the 5-degree orb considered most reliable for 90-minute football matches) is a sextile to Jupiter, which is favourable for Spain.
There is only one testimony in favour of England, a trine to the antiscion of Mercury at 17 Taurus 52. However, this is far outside the 5-degree orb limit and may be pushing hope beyond the bounds of possibility.
The match is expected to be closely fought. The chart inclines towards a win for the favourites, which (at the time of writing) is Spain. A late challenge may be England’s best chance, but only if the game strays far into extra time or penalties.
The outcome of this match may be all in the timing. The first chart is the contest chart set up for 8pm BST (9pm CET) in Zurich, Switzerland.
The chart below is a revised version, set up for a late kickoff. If the match starts at any time upwards of 3 minutes later than scheduled, the ascendant will change from Capricorn to Aquarius, resulting in very different conditions, particularly for the favourites.

The local kick off time for the Semi-Final between Germany and Spain in Zurich, Switzerland is 9pm CET on 23rd July 2025.
Spain, who are currently odds-on to win a place in the final, are represented by Saturn: Saturn, as well as being ruler of Capricorn, is the traditional ruler of Aquarius, so rules the 1st house in both charts. Once again, retrograde Saturn will benefit from proximity to retrograde Neptune, who can prove a powerful ally if he feels so inclined.
Germany, as the least favoured team, are signified by the ruler of the 7th house. If the match starts on time, they are without a primary significator as the ruler of the 7th house is the Moon (ruler of Cancer), already has a key role describing the events of the match. The Moon’s dispositor would usually step in as substitute, but the Moon is in her own sign this is not an option.
However, if the kickoff is 3 minutes late or over, the 7th house cusp moves into Leo, and the Sun will represent Germany as their main significator. The Sun is well placed, in his own sign and close to the 7th house cusp: The strong placement of the Sun, Germany’s main significator, does not guarantee they will win, but they will certainly benefit if the match starts slightly later.
The Moon applies to sextile Mars: This is a powerful testimony for Spain if the match starts on time (as Mars rules the 10th house) but a later kickoff will switch Mars’ house rulership from the 10th to the 4th house, altering his allegiance from Spain to Germany.
The Moon’s final aspect (over her usual 5-degree orb of reliability for a 90-minute football match) is often key to the result. Here, her final aspect is a sextile to Venus, ruler of either the 4th house (for Germany, if the match kicks off on time), or the 10th house (for Spain, if the match starts late).
Finally, if the match starts more than 3 minutes late, it will put retrograde Pluto on the cusp of the ascendant. This is very bad news for the favourites Spain, who should do all in their power to ensure the match starts on time.
Summary:
Expect a closely-fought match with goals for both sides.

As defending Champions, England are the favourites, but can expect a tough battle with Italy for a place in the Final.
Saturn (lord of the 1st house) and Mars (lord of the 10th house) represent the favourites. Italy has just one significator, Venus (lord of the 4th house): The Moon, ruler of the 7th house is otherwise occupied describing the events of the match, and (as she in in Cancer, the sign she rules) she has no dispositor to nominate as substitute.
The Moon’s only aspect of relevance is a conjunction with the antiscion of Venus at 09 Cancer 38. At over 5-degrees distant, this aspect, which favours Italy, is outside the usual orb of reliability for a 90-minute football match. However, it may come into play should the game include extra time or penalties. England will need to be especially vigilant during the latter stages of the game.
Neptune has been a key player in this tournament. The god of dreams does not usually concern himself with sporting contests but, when retrograde assumes his role of ‘earth-shaker’ and lends great force to the cause of the team he favours: The proximity of retrograde Saturn (lord 1) and retrograde Neptune, although not an exact conjunction, could prove very helpful to England.
And help they will need: The applying conjunction between Mars (lord of the 10th house) and the malefic South Node has potential to be a major-stumbling block. The poison in the Dragon’s Tail certainly thwarted Sweden’s ambitions in their Quarter-final penalty shootout against England on 17th July. Now by a twist of fate, England find themselves facing the same obstacle. (Note added 20th July 2025 – France also fell foul of the baleful influence of the South Node in yesterday evening’s Quarter Final. They were hot favourites to win, but lost to Germany on penalties.)
As with the Quarter-Final between France and Germany, this is the favourite’s game to win or lose: If he feels so inclined, Neptune may prove a powerful ally, but England will also have the powerful debility of the South Node to contend with. Italy’s best chance is likely to present itself in extra time (or penalties).

Both France and Germany are serious contenders to win the tournament, but France have had a perfect run so far, while Germany will need to rally their confidence after a surprise defeat to Sweden last weekend.
At the time of writing, the bookmakers favour France to win: As favourites, they are signified by the ruler of the 1st house, Saturn. Their co-significator is Mars, ruler of the 10th house (the house of victory for the favourites).
The Moon rules the 7th house (the house of opponents Germany) but has another role which takes priority, describing the events of the match. As the Moon is in Taurus, Venus (ruler of Taurus) is her dispositor, and steps in as substitute significator for Germany. In this match, Germany has no co-significator as the ruler of the 4th house (the house of victory for the underdogs) is also Venus.
All the Women’s Euro Quarter Final matches are scheduled to kick off on consecutive dates at the same time, so they all look remarkably similar. Once again, the main testimonies in this chart relate to Saturn’s proximity to Neptune (both planets retrograde) and Mars’ applying conjunction to the South Node.
The Saturn and Neptune are almost conjunct but, both planets being retrograde, this aspect never perfects. However, it seems to have been close enough to have influence in previous matches and may do so again. The Vedic astrologer Simon Chokoisky, has observed that Neptune (who usually puts a dampener on sporting contests) behaves out of character when retrograde and has a focused, energising effect. If this proves the case here, it will benefit France.
In contrast, Mars’ applying conjunction with the South Node is a great debility, which may have contributed to the fall of Sweden in their penalty shootout against England yesterday. In this match, Mars rules the 10th house, so his conjunction with the South Node is likely to work against France.
To sum up, this chart has two powerful testimonies: One for and one against France. In the absence of any counter indications supporting Germany, this match belongs to France and it is theirs to win or lose.
