At just over 5-degrees distant, this is a slightly wider orb than we would hope to see in a 90-minute football match (aspects with an orb of 5-degrees or under are most reliable) but suggests that the favourites will have an opportunity to consolidate their advantage in the final stages of the game.

Pluto, placed close to the 1st house cusp, seems keen to get our attention. In his book “Sports Astrology” John Frawley observes that Pluto appears to have a grudge against the favourites. However, in this chart, retrograde Pluto is moving away from the 1st house and may already be far enough away to limit his baleful influence. It could also be that Pluto casts his shadow over past events, describing Liverpool’s recent loss to Crystal Palace in the UEFA Super Cup final earlier this week.
Mercury, ruler of the 4th house (the house of victory for the underdogs) sits on the 7th house cusp. This does not guarantee a win for Bournemouth but does suggest they are in good form and will play well: This testimony is a significant boost to their fortunes.
