Due to the UEFA World Cup Qualifiers, Astrological Football forecasts for the Premier League will be taking a short break this weekend but will return for the weekend 18th/19th October 2025.

At the time of writing, Liverpool are the favourites to win against Chelsea, but the result is expected to be close.   

In the contest chart for the match, the Moon immediately applies to conjunct the 1^st house cusp:  This is is a powerful testimony for the favourites. 

In the absence of any favourable testimonies for Chelsea, it seems the heavens and the pundits are in agreement:  A win for Liverpool is the most likely outcome.

Hosts Manchester City are odds-on favorites against Burnley this Saturday:  The pundits expect them to win easily, but do the heavens agree?   

Mars (ruler of the 10^th house; the house of victory for the favourites), is closely conjunct the 10^th house cusp:  This testimony confirms that Manchester City will prove formidable opponents but does not, by itself, guarantee victory.   

The Moon applies to square Venus, ruler of the 4^th house (the house of victory for the underdogs).  This is a stronger testimony in favour of Burnley.   

Although beyond the 5-degree orb considered most effective in 90-minute football matches, the Moon’s sextile to Mercury (ruler of the 7^th house; for Burnley) is also worthy of note.   

The result of this game is by no means a foregone conclusion:  Manchester City will be on excellent form, but Burnley may be more of a match than they anticipate.  Expect goals for both sides, with Burnley’s chances to improve greatly if the match strays into extra time.

Currently placed 2^nd in the Premier League table to Manchester City’s 8^th place, Arsenal are the favourites to win and are represented by Saturn, (lord of the 1^st house) and Mars, (lord of the 10^th house, the house of victory for the favourites).   

In contest charts, the Moon describes the flow of events.  This role takes priority over her rulership of any of the houses.  As the Moon rules the 7^th house in this chart, Mercury, her dispositor, is substituted as main significator for Arsenal’s opponents, Manchester City.  Venus, ruler of the 4^th house (the house of victory for the underdogs) is City’s co-significator.   

The Part of Fortune is closely conjunct the cusp of the 1^st house: This aspect always occurs around the time of the new Moon, so does not have a bearing on the result.

Mars (ruler of the 10^th house, for Arsenal) immediately applies to square the Part of Fortune:  This is a minor testimony in favour of the favourites.   

The only other applying aspect of note is the Moon’s trine to the Part of Fortune.  At just over 5-degrees distant, this is a slightly wider orb than we would hope to see in a 90-minute football match (aspects with an orb of 5-degrees or under are most reliable) but suggests that the favourites will have an opportunity to consolidate their advantage in the final stages of the game.   

Overall, this chart inclines to a convincing win for Arsenal.
