There is very little happening in the heavens for either of today’s Quarter Finals, and we can only hope that the matches themselves will prove more eventful.
As odds-on favourites, Spain are awarded the 1st house and its ruler Jupiter. However, the only testimony of significance, an immediate sextile from the Moon to Mercury (Lord of the opposing 7th house) favours an early lead for Switzerland, an advantage they could consolidate into a surprise victory.
Far fewer surprises are likely in this evening’s clash between two tournament favourites, Belgium and Italy. With the exception of a square to retrograde Pluto (slightly detrimental to the favourites) the Moon makes no significant aspects within orb either in her current sign or the early degrees of the next. This is a likely sign that the status quo will be maintained: Despite the minor testimony of the lunar square to Pluto which may impact slightly on their performance, the team considered the strongest at the start of the game will be the likely winners at the finish. On the strength of this chart, favourites Italy can look forward to a place in the semi-finals.
