Astrological Football Forecast for the World Cup final 2026: 19th July Spain vs Argentina

At the time of writing, Spain are odds-on favourites to lift the World Cup trophy.  They are represented by Mars (lord 1) and the Sun (lord 10).

Rivals Argentina have Venus (lord 7) and Saturn (lord 4) as their significators.

This chart is remarkable for its lack of relevant testimonies.  Perhaps the heavens do not wish us to know the result.

The antiscion of Saturn, (at 15 Virgo 18) is conjunct Venus, (both for Argentina) in the 10th house (the house of success in general, and victory for the favourites in particular)  but too far from the house cusp and in a different sign, so this testimony does not signify.

The Moon makes no aspects over the 5-degree orb considered most effective for a 90-minute football match. The only aspects she makes are beyond this limit.  In such cases, extra time and penalties become very likely.

The Moon must travel over 7-degrees before making her first significant aspect; an opposition to Saturn (for Argentina). Her next aspect (immediately afterwards at 14 Gemini 43) is a trine to Mars, which favours the favourites, Spain.

She will next sextile the antiscion of Mars (at 15 Cancer 17, for Spain) before a square to Mercury (who plays no significant role in the match).

The next lunar aspect is an opposition to the antiscion of Venus at 18 Aries 56.  As Venus is lord 7, this favours Argentina, but the Moon will need to travel over 11-degrees to get there.  It seems unlikely, even with extra time, that the match will continue long enough to call this aspect into play, so we can probably rule it out of consideration.

John Frawley recommends that, when judging contest charts, we stick to the 5-degree limit when considering lunar aspects, adding just 1-degree if extra time is possible.

If we stick rigidly to this rule, the chart tells us nothing.

However, if we push the Moon beyond the 5/6 degree limit, the opposition to Saturn (for Argentina) and the trine to Mars (for Spain) at just over 7 degrees, are immediately called into play.

There can be no draw in a World Cup final: The teams must continue to play until one of them wins.

Extra time is very likely.  The lunar opposition to Saturn suggests an opportunity for Argentina in the latter stages of the game, while the Moon’s aspects to Mars and his antiscion indicate that Spain’s chances will improve the longer the game continues.

*Please Note: The aim will be to post one forecast for each day of the tournament, in advance of the match start time. All charts will be cast for BST (British Summer Time, which is 1 hour ahead of GMT/UST). Due to local time differences, the date of the contest chart may vary from the local match date. Forecasts are for astrological information and educational purposes only. Charts are set for the scheduled kickoff time.  As forecasts are published ahead of the event, there is a possibility that the chart may change if the start of the match is delayed, making the published forecast invalid. In accordance with John Frawley’s system for judging contest charts, the favourites will be chosen on the basis of the bookmaker’s odds in advance of the match
