Astrological Football Forecast for the World Cup 2026: 19th June USA vs Australia

This group D game is bound to attract a great deal of attention, but what do the heavens say?

According to the current betting odds, America are favourites, but only just.  They are signified by Mercury, ruler of the 1st and 10th houses.

Jupiter, ruler of the 7th and 4th houses, represents rivals Australia.

The Moon is a little too far from the 1st house cusp to deliver a boost to the fortunes of the home team (5-degrees is workable, whilst anything within 2-degrees is ideal).

However, there is one testimony involving the Moon which is significant: She applies to square the antiscion of Mercury (for America) at 07 Gemini 27.  Although aspects (other than conjunctions or oppositions) involving antiscion are not always as reliable as bodily aspects, this is worthy of note.

Note that the Moon is also conjunct the antiscion of Jupiter (for Australia, at 02 Gemini 13, but this aspect is already separating so is unlikely to have an influence on the result).

Importantly, the antiscion of Mercury (07 Gemini 27) is placed close to the 10th house cusp.  As the 10th house is the house of victory (victory in general, and for the favourites in particular), this is a significant testimony for America.

Note that the antiscion of Jupiter (for Australia) at 02 Gemini 13) is too far from the 10th house cusp, whilst the antiscion of Mercury (at 07 Gemini 27, for America) is close enough to derive benefit (within an orb of 5-degrees).

For this match, the contest chart favours the favourites (at the time of writing, America). However,  as all the testimonies involve antiscion, their victory may not be straightforward and could involve some controversial or unexpected decisions.

Astrological Football Forecast for the World Cup 2026 : Thursday 11th June Mexico vs South Africa

Welcome to Football Forecasts for the World Cup 2026!

Please note:

The aim will be to post one forecast for each day of the tournament, in advance of the match start time. All charts will be cast for BST (British Summer Time, which is 1 hour ahead of GMT/UST). Forecasts are for astrological information and educational purposes only. Charts are set for the scheduled kickoff time.  As forecasts are published ahead of the event, there is a possibility that the chart may change if the start of the match is delayed, making the published forecast invalid. In accordance with John Frawley’s system for judging contest charts, the favourites will be chosen on the basis of the bookmaker’s odds in advance of the match.

Hosts Mexico are favourites in Group A, which also includes South Korea, Czechia and South Africa.

As favourites, they are represented by Mercury (ruler of the 1st and 10th houses), whilst opponents South Africa have Jupiter (lord of the 7th and 4th houses) as their significator.

The Moon (who describes how the match will progress, and often holds the key to the result) makes no aspect to either Mercury or Jupiter over the 5-degree orb considered most reliable for 90-minute football matches.  In fact, this contest chart is lacking in any outstanding testimonies for either team.  However, this is unlikely to be an uninteresting match, as the host nation will go all out to make a good start to the tournament in front of their home crowd.

If the match strays into extra time, things could get more interesting: Although she makes no aspects within 5-degrees of progress, at just over 5 degrees, she squares the Part of Fortune.  A lunar square aspect to Fortuna favours the underdogs, in this case, South Africa.

If Mexico wish to start this tournament with a win, they will need to dominate the match quickly, ensuring victory is in their grasp before the 90-minute whistle blows.

However, if the game strays into extra time, the fortunes of South Africa will improve considerably and they will have a greater chance of gaining ascendancy.

Astrological Football Forecast for Women’s Euro 2025: Quarter Finals 16th July 2025 Norway vs Italy

Please note:  All contest charts are cast for BST, hence the different date and time from that locally advertised.

The local kick off time for this Quarter Final between Norway and Italy in Geneva, Switzerland is 9pm CET on 16th July 2025

The pundits consider these teams very closely matched, which makes it difficult to pick the favourite. However, at the time of writing, Italy have slightly better odds to win: As the most likely favourites, they are signified by Saturn (lord of the 1st house).

The ruler of the 7th house (the house of rivals Norway) is the Moon.  She already has a role describing the flow of events, so her dispositor Mars, (who as lord of the 10th house, the house of victory for the favourites, would usually be their co-significator) steps in as main significator for Norway.

Venus (ruler of the 4th house, the house of victory for the underdogs) would usually be co-significator for Norway, but also has another role which takes precedence, that of dispositor of the Part of Fortune.

As a result, each team has just one planet representing them: Saturn for Italy and Mars for Norway.

The Moon applies to conjunct the antiscion of Mars (at 12 Aries 57). Although conjunctions to antiscia are not as reliable as bodily conjunctions, this is a powerful testimony for Norway.

However, there is Neptune to consider. In his book “Gambler’s Dharma” which examines contest charts through the lens of Vedic astrology, Simon Chokoisky observes that Neptune has a dampening influence, unless he is retrograde when he is energising.

Here, Neptune is retrograde and almost conjunct Saturn (lord 1, for Italy).  The aspect never perfects, as Saturn is also retrograde.  However, the planets are close enough to be worth noting. In the Club World Cup final on 13th July 2025, Neptune certainly a powerful ally to Chelsea who, despite being the underdogs, trounced favourites Paris Saint Germain three goals to nil.

In Vedic astrology, retrograde planets are thought to be more powerful.  This may be because, when retrograde, planets are closer to the Earth and therefore shine more brightly in the sky.  In this contest chart, just as in the Club World Cup Final, Saturn is retrograde.  If this theory holds true for contest charts, favourites Italy may play even better than expected.

Either way, the effects of retrograde planets in sports astrology is an area worthy of further research.

This chart is an excellent opportunity to test the effects of the planets on sporting contests, as it contains several powerful but contradictory testimonies:  The Moon (with her aspect to the antiscion of Mars) favours Norway, but if Neptune decides to lend his support to an already strong Italy, the favourites may yet win out.
