Astrological Football Forecast for the World Cup 2026: 1st July Belgium vs Senegal

All today’s matches promise to be closely fought, but the contest chart for Belgium vs Senegal has some interesting testimonies which invite further analysis.

Belgium, as the favourites, have Venus (lord 1) as their sole significator.  The Moon who, as lord 10, would have been their co-significator, already has a role describing the flow of events.

Senegal are represented by Mars (lord 7) and Saturn (lord 10).

The first aspect the Moon makes (over the 5-degree orb considered most reliable for 90-minute football matches) is a trine to Mars.  This favours Senegal.  She then trines Uranus and conjuncts Pluto in quick succession.

In astrology, Uranus is something of a bye word for disruption, whilst Pluto (as observed by John Frawley in his book Sports Astrology) often appears to have a grudge against the favourites: Judging by the Moon’s aspects alone, this match promises surprises.

Neptune on the cusp of the 7th house (Senegal) may be significant: In the right mood, he can cause upsets to rival Uranus.  Neptune’s influence is more difficult to gauge that Pluto’s: Whether he chooses to favour or hinder Senegal remains to be seen.

There is little in this chart to favour Belgium.  The Moon eventually squares the antiscion of Venus (at 08 Taurus 52) but has to travel beyond the 5-degree orb of reliability to do it: This could describe an opportunity in the latter stages of the game, most likely during extra time.

The strongest testimony in this chart (the lunar trine to Mars), favours Senegal.  Belgium’s best chance is likely in the latter stages of the game.

However, the prominence of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto in this chart caution us to expect the unexpected.

Astrological Football Forecast for the World Cup 2026: 30th June France vs Sweden

France, the odds-on favourites, are signified solely by Mars (lord 1).

Mercury, lord 10, who would otherwise be France’s co-significator, already has a key role as dispositor of the Part of Fortune.

Rivals Sweden are represented by Venus (lord 7) and Jupiter (lord 4).

There is only one aspect of note in this contest chart: The Part of Fortune is conjunct the antiscion  her dispositor, Mercury (at 03 Gemini 38).  Mercury is retrograde, so this conjunction is applying, favouring the favourites, France.

The contest chart agrees with the pundits: France will have the better game.

Astrological Football Forecast for the World Cup 2026: 29th June Germany vs Paraguay

Germany are odds-on favourites to win against Paraguay. However, Paraguay have earned their place in the Round of 32, and are not to be underestimated.

What do the heavens say?  Not much.  In common with many of these early-stage World Cup matches, this contest chart is lacking in definitive testimonies.  Hopefully we will start to see stronger charts during the latter stages of the tournament.

In fact, there is only one testimony of note:  The Moon applies to trine the antiscion of Venus (at 11 Taurus 07) lord of the 7th house, for Paraguay.  This is not a strong enough testimony to guarantee them a win, but suggests they could make things very tricky for the favourites.

What, if anything, can we infer from this inconclusive World Cup contest chart? Germany will be confident of victory but Paraguay, may make the match more challenging than the favourites expect.

Astrological Football Forecast for the World Cup 2026: 28th June South Africa vs Canada

The pundits favour Canada for this opening match of the round of 32. In reality, the teams are better matched than the odds suggest, with both Canada and South Africa finishing second in their group.

Bookies’ favourites Canada are represented by Mercury (ruler of the 1st and 10th houses) while rivals South Africa have Jupiter (ruler of the 7th and 4th houses) as their significator.

In contest charts, only major aspects are considered, so the lunar quincunx to Mercury does not signify. Nor does the lunar quincunx to Jupiter which is also beyond the usual 5-degree orb considered most effective give for 90-degree football matches.

With no significant lunar aspects, or any other testimonies by placement, this contest chart is an enigma.  How might we interpret it?

The Moon makes no major aspect to any relevant planet whilst in her current sign of Sagittarius.  Sometimes this indicates a foregone conclusion; the favourites will win.   The problem here is, although Canada are nominally the favourites, both teams may be better matched than the betting odds imply, making it tricky to decide who the favourites actually are.  Nor can we use the alternative technique of allotting houses 1 and 10 to the home side, and 7 and 4 to the away team.

In a run-of-the-mill league game, an inconclusive chart such as this one could point to a draw.  However, we are in the knockout stages of a World Cup tournament, where a draw is not possible.  Extra time, and possibly a penalty shootout may be on the cards (or in the heavens!).  If the bookies are correct, Canada might have a slight edge over their rivals, but this chart indicates that it’s all to play for.

Astrological Football Forecast for the World Cup 2026: 27th June Panama vs England

Within Group L, England have one win and one draw to their credit.  Panama have yet to win a match: On this past performance alone, England must be the favourites, although a win is far from guaranteed.

What does the contest chart say?

As favourites, England have Mars and Mercury (the rulers of the 1st and 10th houses, respectively) as their significators.

Panama are represented by Venus and Jupiter (the lords of the 7th and 4th houses).

The Moon applies to a trine with Venus (lord 7, for Panama).  Last time Panama played England in the World Cup (in 2018) Gareth Southgate’s England team won 6-1.  However, this powerful lunar trine suggests Panama could do better this time.

This is the only lunar aspect over the 5-degree orb considered most reliable for 90-minute football matches.  However, there are other (minor) testimonies to be considered.

Mars (lord 7, for England) is placed inside the 7th house (Panama).  In his book “Sports Astrology”, John Frawley recommends that only planets placed within a couple of degrees either side of the house cusp be considered when judging the match outcome.  Experienced has taught that this is usually the case.  Here, Mars (England) is too far away from the 7th house cusp to testify to a Panama victory (England “captured” in Panama’s house) but could show that England will feel the pressure, and may find the game more challenging than they expect.

The antiscion of the Part of Fortune (at 00 Virgo 38) is placed near to the cusp of the 10th house.  Not close enough (within 2-degrees) to guarantee an England win, but (similar to Mars in the 7th) worthy of consideration.

Overall, this is not a clear chart.  Only one aspect is reliable; the lunar trine to Venus which suggests that Panama will play better than expected.  Whether this will be enough to deny England the win remains to be seen.

Astrological Football Forecast for the World Cup 2026: 26th June Japan vs Sweden

Japan’s strong performance in this tournament has made them odds-on favourites in this Group F match against Sweden.  They are currently 2nd place in their group. If they are able to overcome the challenge of some crucial player injuries, a good result in this game could win them the top spot in their Group going into the Round of 32.

As favourites, Japan are signified by Jupiter (lord 1).  Sweden have Mercury (lord 7) as their representative.

There are no co-significators for this match as the 10th and 4th houses are ruled by the planets (Mercury and Jupiter, respectively) which are already busy as the main significator for the other team.

The placement of the antiscion of Part of Fortune in significant houses can be key to the result.  Here, Fortuna’s antiscion (at 13 Virgo 31) is in the 10th house (the house of victory for the favourites), placed close to the house cusp. Admittedly, it could be closer: John Frawley in his book “Sports Astrology” suggests a couple of degrees before the cusp, or a couple of degrees after it is ideal, but in a chart with so few testimonies, this could give Japan the edge.

The Moon’s applying aspect to Mercury (for Sweden) sounds a note of caution.  This is the only relevant aspect near the 5-degree orb considered most effective in 90-minute football matches, and even this is outside that limit (as the Moon will need to travel just over 5 degrees to perfect the aspect).

However, as World Cup games seem particularly prone to extra time, this could suggest a last-minute opportunity for Sweden against which Japan must be on their guard.

Astrological Football Forecast for the World Cup 2026: 25th June South Africa vs South Korea

South Korea have one win (against Czechia) and one loss (against Mexico) and, along with tournament hosts Mexico, are hotly tipped to qualify from their group.  With the Round of 32 in their sights, they are the bookies’ favourites to win against Group A rivals South Africa.

As favourites, South Korea are represented by Jupiter (ruler of the 1st house) and Venus (ruler of the 10th house).

South Africa have lost one game (Mexico) and drawn against Czechia.  They will need to win this match to qualify for the next round.

South Africa are signified by Mercury (lord of the 7th house) and Mars (ruler of the 4th house).

The Moon immediately applies to square Venus (lord 10, for South Korea). She then aspects the antiscion of Saturn (at 16 Virgo 05) by sextile before opposing the antiscion of Venus (for South Korea, at 16 Taurus 16). These are all the lunar aspects over the 5-degree orb considered most reliable for a 90-minute football match.  Two of the three aspects (those involving Venus, lord 10) favour South Korea *

If this pundits are correct, South Korea should be happy with the result.

There is little in this contest chart to encourage South Africa’s hopes of qualifying to the next round.

*In John Frawley’s Sports Astrology, he notes that if a planet which is co-significator of a team (therefore the ruler of house 10 or 4) is also dispositor of the Part of Fortune, its role as Fortuna’s dispositor should take priority.  I have always interpreted this to mean that, if there is an aspect between the Part of Fortune and her dispositor, this testimony should take precedence.  However, if there is no such aspect, the dispositor’s role as house ruler should be considered.

In this contest chart of South Africa vs South Korea there is no aspect between the Part of Fortune and her dispositor Venus.  Therefore, Venus’ role as lord of the 10th house has priority in consideration.

Astrological Football Forecast for the World Cup 2026: 24th June Scotland vs Brazil

Both teams can count on the strong support of their fans, and expectations will be running high.

The pundits favour Brazil, but what do the heavens say?

Brazil have Jupiter (lord 1) as their significator, while rivals Scotland are represented by Mercury (lord 7).

The co-significators of both teams (lord 10, Mercury and lord 4, Jupiter respectively) are already spoken for so each team has just one planet to represent them.

The antiscion of Mercury (for Scotland) at 04 Gemini 38 is placed on the cusp of the 7th house. Although this does not guarantee a win, it is a sign that Scotland will play well and be a credit to their fans.

However, the antiscion of Jupiter (at 01 Gemini 08) shows Brazil in an even stronger position.  Placed just above the 7th house cusp, Jupiter shows Brazil dominating the game, despite strong opposition from their rivals.

If Brazil are the favourites, this contest chart gives them a slight edge. However, this match is likely to be closely fought, and well worth watching.

Astrological Football Forecast for the World Cup 2026: 23rd June England vs Ghana

England, as favourites, are signified by Mars (lord 1) and the Sun, (lord 10).  The key aspect in this chart is the Moon’s applying conjunction to the antiscion of the Part of Fortune at 28 Libra 20.  This supports a win for the favourites.

However, the placement of Venus (lord 7) for Ghana, applying to the 10th house cusp, suggests that they will keep the pressure on England in this match, and should not be underestimated.

Conclusion: A likely win for England, but Ghana will make them work for it.

Astrological Football Forecast for the World Cup 2026: Norway vs Senegal

Norway are favourites for this match against Group I rivals Senegal.

Among the pundits, there is high expectation of a closely-fought game, with a draw a strong possibility.

However, the heavens think differently:  The Moon’s immediate application to conjunct the 10th house cusp (the house of victory for the favourites) favours Norway for the win.
