Astrological Football Forecast for the World Cup 2026: 25th June South Africa vs South Korea

South Korea have one win (against Czechia) and one loss (against Mexico) and, along with tournament hosts Mexico, are hotly tipped to qualify from their group.  With the Round of 32 in their sights, they are the bookies’ favourites to win against Group A rivals South Africa.

As favourites, South Korea are represented by Jupiter (ruler of the 1st house) and Venus (ruler of the 10th house).

South Africa have lost one game (Mexico) and drawn against Czechia.  They will need to win this match to qualify for the next round.

South Africa are signified by Mercury (lord of the 7th house) and Mars (ruler of the 4th house).

The Moon immediately applies to square Venus (lord 10, for South Korea). She then aspects the antiscion of Saturn (at 16 Virgo 05) by sextile before opposing the antiscion of Venus (for South Korea, at 16 Taurus 16). These are all the lunar aspects over the 5-degree orb considered most reliable for a 90-minute football match.  Two of the three aspects (those involving Venus, lord 10) favour South Korea *

If this pundits are correct, South Korea should be happy with the result.

There is little in this contest chart to encourage South Africa’s hopes of qualifying to the next round.

*In John Frawley’s Sports Astrology, he notes that if a planet which is co-significator of a team (therefore the ruler of house 10 or 4) is also dispositor of the Part of Fortune, its role as Fortuna’s dispositor should take priority.  I have always interpreted this to mean that, if there is an aspect between the Part of Fortune and her dispositor, this testimony should take precedence.  However, if there is no such aspect, the dispositor’s role as house ruler should be considered.

In this contest chart of South Africa vs South Korea there is no aspect between the Part of Fortune and her dispositor Venus.  Therefore, Venus’ role as lord of the 10th house has priority in consideration.

*Please Note: The aim will be to post one forecast for each day of the tournament, in advance of the match start time. All charts will be cast for BST (British Summer Time, which is 1 hour ahead of GMT/UST). Due to local time differences, the date of the contest chart may vary from the local match date. Forecasts are for astrological information and educational purposes only. Charts are set for the scheduled kickoff time.  As forecasts are published ahead of the event, there is a possibility that the chart may change if the start of the match is delayed, making the published forecast invalid. In accordance with John Frawley’s system for judging contest charts, the favourites will be chosen on the basis of the bookmaker’s odds in advance of the match
