UEFA Euro 2024 Semi-Finals: 9th July 2024 Spain vs France

On to the Euro semi-finals: Spain are widely tipped to win, but do the heavens agree?

As favourites, Spain have Saturn (lord 1) and Mars (lord 10) as their significators.

Mercury, dispositor of the Moon (lord 7) steps in as main significator for France, with Venus (lord 4) as their co-significator.

The antiscion of Mercury (at 18 Taurus 24) is close to the cusp of the 4th house (the house of victory for the underdogs): This confirms the French will be on fine form.

Mars (lord 10) is placed in the 4th house, showing Spain’s hopes of victory lie in the power of France. Ideally, Mars would be closer to the 4th house cusp (within 2 degrees), but this is another hopeful sign for Les Bleus.

If the pundits are correct in naming Spain as the favourites, this chart inclines towards victory for France.

The Moon, whose job describing the flow of events takes precedence over her role as lord 7, applies to a square with the antiscion of Venus (lord 4) at 02 Gemini 20. This is only a minor testimony in support of France, but in a chart with so few other testimonies, this may tip the result in their favour.

  1. Is there anything in the chart to suggest the game having to go into extra time? I’ve seen before you were able to decode those specifics and was wondering if you are that happening for this game

    1. The Moon making an aspect to a main significator (lord1, lord 7, lord 10 or lord 4) just beyond the 5 degree orb (the orb considered most effective for a 90-minute football match) is the most reliable way of forecasting extra time. No such aspect appears in the contest chart for Spain vs France. That does not guarantee that Spain or France fans won’t have to endure extra time (or even the dreaded penalty shootout!) but does make it less likely. Glad you are enjoying the posts 🙂 All good wishes, Louise

    1. Hi A, I hope you are well and are enjoying the blog. All my charts for the Euros were cast for the German location but using the equivalent British Summer Time (+1 GMT/UST). This method can be expected to yield the same chart as that cast for local time, at the same location. For example, the chart cast for the Euros final on 14th July 2024 at 9pm in Berlin (Central European Summer Time) gives an ascendant of 17 Capricorn 47. This is identical to my chart, also cast for Berlin for the equivalent British Summer Time (plus 1 hour GMT) of 8pm (also 17 Capricorn 47). I prefer this method, as time zones and Summer time across Europe (and different states, in America) can vary dramatically and it isn’t always possible to get up to date accurate information on them: By using my local time (in this case, British Summer Time) I am able to verify the accuracy by checking match kickoff times against the live coverage schedules in the U.K. television guides. In some of my earlier posts, I did mention that I had used BST (British Summer Time) for these charts. I omitted it from some of my later posts, so my apologies if this wasn’t clear. The time zone used is still listed in the graphics for the charts themselves. Thanks again for your input – I wish you every success with your own forecasts 🙂
