England, as favourites, are signified by Mars (lord 1) and the Sun, (lord 10). The key aspect in this chart is the Moon’s applying conjunction to the antiscion of the Part of Fortune at 28 Libra 20. This supports a win for the favourites.
However, the placement of Venus (lord 7) for Ghana, applying to the 10th house cusp, suggests that they will keep the pressure on England in this match, and should not be underestimated.
Conclusion: A likely win for England, but Ghana will make them work for it.

Hi, Very impressed at your belief in what you do and the courage in making forecasts like this in advance. Astrologers, no matter what their standing, are generally scared to be so brave. So hats off to you!
Just one quickie: You use wide(r) orbs for application to, say the 10th house as here. And it is not the flow of events, the Moon, that is being pushed to limits.
Venus, lord 7, is applying to conjunct the 10th Cusp in 6 degrees and 18 minutes, which is too wide an orb for this kind of a prediction. I don’t think John Frawley has ever used this wide an orb for sports contests, specially in the event chart as evidenced by his Sports Astrology.

Thank you for your kind words and thoughts on this chart: You are absolutely correct, John Frawley, who literally wrote the book on Sports Astrology, does not recommend using such wide orbs of aspect: But Venus approaching the 10th house cusp seemed to have something important to say. I felt it was significant (although I should have made it clear, that using such a wide orbs is not standard practice in the Frawley system – thank you for querying this, so I was able to clarify). I didn’t think it was close enough to award Ghana victory, but they would make England work hard. It is an unconventional view of the chart, I agree, but I like to push the boundaries of theories, especially in World Cup matches which tend to produce more upsets than run-of-the-mill weekly games. More concerning, is how England were unable to convert the advantage signified by the Moon’s applying conjunction to the antiscion of Mars (at 28 Libra 20) into victory. In his book “Sports Astrology” John Frawley notes that lunar conjunctions to the antiscion of the Part of Fortune are not necessarily final, but in the absence of any stronger testimonies I hoped for better. The cosmos, like the World Cup, is full of surprises, and we live and learn! Thank you again for your thoughtful comments – I hope you are enjoying the posts, and the tournament 🙂
