Sunday 17th July 2022 UEFA Women’s Euro: Sweden Women vs Portugal Women and Switzerland Women vs Netherlands Women

As favourites, Sweden are represented by Mars (Lord 1) and Mercury (Lord 10). Mercury is combust, a serious debility which could cause problems for Sweden.

Portugal played with resilience and determination against both the Netherlands and Switzerland and are not to be underestimated. They are signified by Venus (Lord 7) and Jupiter (Lord 4).

The Moon applies to the 4th house cusp: A powerful boost for Portugal. However the Moon’s next aspect, a trine to the Part of Fortune, favours Sweden.

The Moon next applies to oppose the antiscion of Jupiter (at 21 Virgo 29); a minor testimony for Portugal.

The heavens promise a close result. A draw is not beyond the bounds of possibility.

Note that the Moon next applies to trine Mercury, before moving on to square Venus. Both these aspects are well beyond the 5-degree orb usually effective for a 90-minute football match. Should the game extend into extra time, opportunities are promised for both sides.

There is so little difference between the chart of Switzerland Women vs Netherlands Women, and the chart of Sweden Women vs Portugal Women that the game should play out in a similar way.

Here, Netherlands are favourites and will have to contend with Mercury (Lord 10, victory for the favourites) being combust, a serious debility.

Switzerland, as the team less favoured to win, have the advantage of the Moon applying to the 4th house cusp. The Netherlands will benefit from the Moon’s trine to the Part of Fortune, while the minor testimony of the lunar opposition to the antiscion of Jupiter (21 Virgo 29) again favours Switzerland.

A closely fought match is forecast, with Switzerland having potential to do much better than the odds suggest.
