Where the UK bookmakers are concerned, England are usually the favourites and this game is no exception. However, in the light of their recent performance, this may be justified. They are represented by Saturn (Lord 1) and Mars (Lord 10).
Spain, who began as favourites to win the tournament, have turned in a competent but somewhat lacklustre performance. They will be keen to do better tonight and are signified by Venus (Lord 4 and the dispositor of the Moon, Lord 7).
The Moon (significator of events) first applies to sextile Venus, for Spain. The next lunar aspect is an opposition with the antiscion of Saturn (Lord 1) at 06 Scorpio 20, slightly beyond the 5-degree orb considered effective for a 90-minute football match.
So, we have one strong testimony for Spain, and one less certain testimony for England: Spain may have a few surprises in store and the expected England victory is by no means certain. England’s chances will improve during the latter stages of the game, especially if it continues into extra time.
