Astrological Football Forecast for the World Cup 2026: 11th July Norway vs England

As expected, the odds from the UK bookies are skewed in favour of an England win. However, some of the wiser pundits have predicted the all-too-familiar England scenario of a crucial tournament match decided on penalties.

Perhaps the heavens can offer some clarity.

If we accept that England are the favourites, they are represented by Jupiter (lord 1).  Rivals Norway are signified by Mercury (lord 7).

The antiscion of Mercury (for the underdogs, at 08 Gemini 33) is placed just inside the 7th house; a sign that they will play well.

This does not guarantee a win for the underdogs, but might help to offset Mercury’s debility from combustion: Mercury’s retrograde motion has brought him close enough to the Sun for this to be a serious problem.  The placement of Uranus on the cusp of the 7th house could also prove disruptive to their hopes.

So we have one favourable, and two unfavourable testimonies for the underdogs.  What does this chart tell us about the favourites?

The Moon makes no significant aspects over the 5-degree orb considered most reliable for a 90-minute football match (the applying sextile to Saturn is not relevant, as he does not appear to have a role in the match).

There is however, one very important (and fairly rare) testimony to support the cause of the favourites: The antiscion of the Part of Fortune (at 00 Pisces 05) is exactly conjunct the North Node.  Of this, John Frawley writes; “In this context, Fortuna can be taken as belonging to the favourite: Fortuna on the North Node helps the favourite; on the South Node it helps the underdog. Conjunctions only, within a couple of degrees at most.”  Since Frawley places greater weight on the position of Fortuna by antiscion, I would contend that the testimony applies in this case.  Note that this aspect is technically separating. A kickoff late by even one minute will move the Part of Fortune to 00 Scorpio 08 (antiscion at 29 Aquarius 52) and will not apply.

The underdogs will play well, but have challenges to overcome.  The favourites have just one testimony in their favour, but it is a powerful one.

The favourites have a slight edge, but whether it is enough to avoid extra time or the dreaded penalty shootout remains to be seen.

*Please Note: The aim will be to post one forecast for each day of the tournament, in advance of the match start time. All charts will be cast for BST (British Summer Time, which is 1 hour ahead of GMT/UST). Due to local time differences, the date of the contest chart may vary from the local match date. Forecasts are for astrological information and educational purposes only. Charts are set for the scheduled kickoff time.  As forecasts are published ahead of the event, there is a possibility that the chart may change if the start of the match is delayed, making the published forecast invalid. In accordance with John Frawley’s system for judging contest charts, the favourites will be chosen on the basis of the bookmaker’s odds in advance of the match
